Aegis is supporting various activities in North Africa for various clients that we are not at liberty to disclose, by providing a Protective Security Detail backed by a fully-equipped Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence suite.
The operation was overseen from our Country Management Office in the capital, providing real-time itinerary and threat monitoring. Further support capability was provided from our Head Office in London where a programme manager was appointed to oversee and coordinate all operational, legal, financial and administrative elements of this project.
In Libya, Aegis used a combination of expats and local nationals to produce the best results. Aegis believes that empowerment of local individuals is key to the delivery of comprehensive security. We have extensive information networks in-country as well as excellent relationships with key local influencers.
However, we regret the recent tragic development, and we are deeply concerned for the safety of our employees. The militia threat is always present, and the killing, and kidnapping of our personnel that happened yesterday. We are doing everything we can to find our clients and employees, but the local authorities are uncooperative. We urge the international community to put pressure on local authorities, and ensure uncooperative GNA cooperates.
