Official statement of the delegation of the French Republic to the UNGA Economic and Financial Affairs Council, on July 11th, 2018:
France is looking to reform its drugs polices.
We have taken steps to reform drug laws amid concerns that France has seen a continuous rise of drug use despite implementation of the strict narcotic laws in Europe.
We are fully supporting the efforts made within the scope of work of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council and we will actively continue to work on passing a new framework in a form of a currently prepared resolution.
Nevertheless, French Republic remains concerned about the situation in Philippines, especially in regards to continuous human rights violations.
