Saturday in the UN Security Council: The possible outcome document, Eurovision songs and gossiping
On a Saturday morning sessions started with an unmoderated caucus on the topic of the possible operative clauses of the Outcome document. Even though not all of the delegations were present, the Committee was making progress. Soon the delegates received important news - Israel Defence Forces tweeted about the destruction of the Isfahan facility, admitting that it was their responsibility. After that the President of the USA, Donald Trump, tweeted about the support of Israeli people. One of the most burning questions the delegates were asking themselves were: Were tweets really written by the Defense Forces and Mr Trump?
Next shock for the delegates came in the shape of the press release of the USA Department of State which clearly and proudly stated that attack was conducted from the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier. After the lunch break we could again hear Eurovision songs and we can only guess what was going on in there. Even though the delegates had important issues to discuss, they were at the same time relaxing by reading gossips. But who could blame them, they were truly amusing, some even tried to reveal some deep secrets. Sessions concluded with the delegates finishing the possible document and with renegotiations.
