The United States' Delegation is very pleased with Resolution 2470. A great win for our nation and our allies. The Resolution demands a modification of Iran's middle-range ballistic missiles to make them incapable of carrying nuclear warheads. With a force of law behind these words, future breaches by Iran can and will meet consequences.
Furthermore, the Resolution urges the Iranian Regime to terminate its funding of Shia Militias in Iraq and Houthi Militias in Yemen. The support of the international community in curbing Iran's destabilising actions is essential for peace in the region.
Most importantly, the Resolution advises the IAEA to conduct an international investigation of the Isfahan facility. Our intel indicates that the Iran has been developing nuclear military technology in the Isfahan Facility with the help of the Russian Federation. The investigation will most definitely reveal Iran's breach of the JCPOA, constituting a powerful incentive for our European Allies and all other signatories of the JCPOA to withdraw from the deal and negotiate a new one.
We thank our partner in the Security Council for their support, their trust and their cooperation. A great step towards piece in the Middle East has be taken today.
