Official press statement by the UN Security Council
The Security Council strongly condemns the cyber-attack resulting in the loss of data of over 15000 computers belonging to the Saudi Arabian oil company Aramco. The Security Council is currently working on the regulation of cyberspace and cyberattacks and expresses its hope to provide a resolution to this problem as soon as possible.
The Security Council is doing its very best to strengthen cooperation amongst member states to prevent cybersecurity breaches and to bring cybercriminals to justice.
The Security Council also expresses concern over oil production reduction and other effects these cyber attacks are causing to economic sectors, especially given the global health emergency we find ourselves in.
